Up and about early for the trip back to haul the boat with the tide and get over to Rockland for the boat show in the afternoon. Hauled the dingy to the roof for the last time this trip. Left the mooring at 6 am with a temp of 56.
Clear inside but it looked as though it might be thick outside. As it turned out we had clear conditions but the folks headed West had no visibility.
Approaching Tenants we passed Dreadnought heading West.
The haul out went smoothly and we put the boat and trailer in the upper yard where we spent the night on board thanks to Stuart at Lyman Morse.

Tenants Harbor to Boothbay
The four sailboats were headed back to Annisquam. Their first stop was Boothbay so we decided to meet them there and then return to Lyman Morse in Tenants the following morning for our haulout. The day began with a great sun rise observed by the captain but no one else.
Tinker again departed early so that we could take the long way around, passing through Port Clyde, Maple Juice Cove, Friendship and Round Pond on the way.
On the chance of finding her home Tinker and Monomoit stopped at Annie's summer house. This is what a Maine cottage should be at its best.
If your ever in Boothbay in the summer don't miss the peach shortcake at the Ebb Tide.
The Last Supper was celebrated at the Rock Tide Restaurant.

In Boothbay Mike had arranged moorings for the group and a dock for Monomoit at Wotton's Wharf.

Seal Bay to Tenants Harbor
We awoke to another beautiful quiet morning. The cook was so inspired she baked cinnamon walnut muffins for Sooner, Quest and Celery which were delivered warm to each.
On the way out of the bay passed a couple of goldplaters that had arrived after us the previous evening.
The plan was for everyone to meet in Tenants for the evening. Monomoit had made her repairs and was coming from Rockland. Quest and Celery were going back through Fox Is. Thorofare. Since it was such a beautiful day we decided to take the route around the southern side of Vinalhaven. Along the way we passed Heron Neck Light, Hurricane Is. and the White Islands. Form there it was across the mouth of the bay to Muscle Ridge and Tenants.
We caught up with the fleet just after passing Whitehead Is. For the last couple of miles we acted as the photo boat.
With the whole group reassembled cocktail hour was observed as a group before going our separate ways for dinner.

Rockland to Seal Bay on Vinalhaven
We were jolted awake at 7 am by the coast guard who choose that hour to test every sound making device on their vessels docked about 150 feet away. Since we were up we gave Tinker a fresh water rinse and then headed off to breakfast at Rock City Cafe, a favorite spot. The cook decided that pie was in order to settle her jangled nerves.
Back to the boat and cast off for Vinalhaven. Our course took us past Owl's Head, Through the Fox Is. Thorofare, a run up Perry Creek, then down the East side to Seal Bay for a night on the hook.
While passing Goose Rocks Light our engine alarm sounded. We shut down immediately with no idea of the cause. While checking the oil we noticed a large piece of kelp had draped itself around the lower unit. Apparently it had cut off the cooling water and the high temp alarm had been the result.
After entering Seal Bay we heard that a couple of the boats we had left in Camden were making for the same spot. We ran in to the head of the bay to have a look around then came half way back out to a scenic spot and dropped the hook. While waiting for the others to arrive we were joined by Sooner who had come to Maine on her own bottom from MA. It was a pleasure meeting another Rosborough.

Our afternoon anchorage was a bit too exposed for the small storm that was predicted to pass so we moved further inside with the others. With the hook securely set the captain took up his normal off watch post.
